“Empowering Young Leaders of Today”
Introduction to Sparkle Child & Youth Development
The Founders of Sparkle Child & Youth Development (SCYD) have seen the need for change and development in the community and its surrounding areas with regards to gangsterism, substance and drug abuse. As community leaders and role models, we are aiming to restore in the youth the vision of hope and prosperity through assisting, directing and guiding them. Sparkle Child & Youth Development also has a strong working relationship with the World Education Fellowship South Africa (WEFSA) and the Dare to Care Initiative. WEFSA is a non-government organisation. It is open to educators, members of associated professions, and to all members of the public, who have a common interest in education at all levels. The fellowship meets biannually at international conferences, publishes books and pamphlets and through its national selections, participates in workshops, meetings and developmental projects. The fellowship does not advocate any dogma; each member is free to put its principles into practice in ways which are best suited to his/her living and working environment. The Dare to Care Initiative aims support and assists families who are battling to make ends meet through a Food Drive programme. Dare to care also have a clothing drive whereby they provide clothing for the needy, communities and squatter camps. The Dare to Care Initiative’s objective is based solely for the aid of communities where there is a dire need for change and unity. The Initiative’s outreach goes into communities which include Westbury, Newclare, Claremont, Coronationville, Eldorado Park, Langlaagte, Ennerdale and Newlands. All these areas have been affected especially since covid19 hit our shores leaving Families destitute.
