School Aftercare Services
Homework
Children are helped on a daily basis with their homework. The children who have the same homework are grouped together and in this way the whole group gets the homework support that they need. The grade seven’s (7) who do not have homework on various days are asked to assist the grade one’s (1) and grade two’s (2). This also makes provision for leadership and role model development within the classroom. The homework of the grade one’s and two’s are also checked by the teaches to see if it has been bone correctly after the grade seven’s have assisted them with it. Home work is also provided for the children who do not have homework, this keeps their minds focused on their school work. We also provide assistance and support for children who have projects and assignments by providing them with researched information from the internet, magazines, newspaper and books as source materials.
Reading
The children are assisted with reading and pronunciation of words on a daily basis. In the cases where children cannot pronounce the words, they are told to break it down into syllables. The children are also asked to read passages from readers that they bring with them everyday. We also provide readers for those children who do not have. After they have read a passage, they are questioned on what they have read to see if they understood the message or storyline. The grade one’s and two’s have marked pages which they have to read as part of their homework which also has to be signed by the parents for learner parent involvement.
Writing
All the grades witting skills are checked on a daily basis to see if it is done correctly. We check spelling, grammar and construction of sentences. We also write passages on the board and have them write it down. We let the children exchange texts that they have written to see if their peers are able to read the texts, this also helps with peer and group work. We do spelling B’s to get the children to learn words some words may be new to the children and others may be recall. Repetition in writing is done on a daily basis like counting, shapes, colours and mathematical applications.

Visual Literacy
We also have a movie day, were we use their play and entertainment as a learning activity. We see that movies or visual learning should always have a development aspect to it. We give a framework around the visual material being watched and questions are based on the visual material to stimulate actions, creativity, social aspects, morals, ethics and norms. This also helps us to see if the children apply what they have learnt.
Experiential Learning and Peace Games
Children learn through play, our experiential learning activities provides the opportunity for children from different background to interact with one another through cooperative play and in this way they receive life skills development.
Excursions
